LED Lights for Energy Efficient Lighting
Wednesday, February 8th, 2012
Now-a-days, there are more lighting options which can be used for indoor and outdoor lighting. Traditional luminaires are being replaced by more advanced lighting products which help in improving visual acuity and lighting sustainability in different settings. More and more establishments are undergoing lighting renovations in order to upgrade their lighting systems to make them more functional and effective.
Today, the leading luminaires recommended by professional electrical contractors are LED lights. LED (Light Emitting Diodes) lights are more energy efficient than their standard counterparts. In fact, LED lights effectively reduce electric consumption and allow as much as 60% energy savings compared to their regular counterparts. You can even maximize this further by using lighting control products which helps in optimizing lighting efficiency and sustainability.
Despite being initially expensive, LED lights are more practical and economical in the long run since they guarantee immediate reduction in energy costs. They are also more durable and long lasting than standard luminaires, thus resulting in lesser maintenance and replacement costs.

Using the Digital Lock System on the SentrySafe X105
Wednesday, February 8th, 2012
Before using the SentrySafe X105 for the first time check to make sure that there are batteries provided. Some manufacturers do not provide batteries with their products which can be a bit of a pain so double check to be certain. If you do need to provide your own batteries then invest in a good quality brand that are alkaline based and not rechargeable.
Install the new batteries by first unlocking the door by using the provided override keys. Open the door and place the batteries in the compartment in the inside edge of the door. The safe will have its default coding but I would strongly advise you to replace it with your own personal selection.
- To add a new code you need to first reset the system. Do this by pressing the tiny button at the side of the door. A yellow light will flash indicating that the unit is ready to save your new code.
- Punch in a new 8 digit number, enter the hash key and you are done.

Reasons a Hand Shower May Be Useful
Tuesday, February 7th, 2012
There are a number of reasons why installing a hand shower in a bathroom enclosure can be a good idea. It can be especially useful in homes that have children. Older kids may find that a wall fixed shower is too high set for them to easily control. In many cases a hand shower sits on a sliding bar and can easily be lowered to a more suitable height for a child.
A handheld fixture also enables a parent to more easily shower younger toddlers and kids that like to bathe that way. Being able to lift the showerhead clear of the wall mount and use it by hand means that it can be brought down to the child’s level. This can make it easier and more fun for them to shower.
Most bathroom fixture manufacturers will offer handheld models as part of their showerhead collections. This includes companies such as Kohler, Moen and Delta, just to name a few of the more well-known manufacturers.

Hamster Mites: Getting Rid of Them Fast
Monday, November 21st, 2011
Hamsters are great pets to have but what you’re going to soon find out is that these pets commonly have problems such as lice as well as mites. While this is rather normal for many pets out there, there are some things that you can do in order to get rid of them for good. Listed below are some tips that one can use when they want to get rid of mites on their hamster.
Clean up the environment: The first thing that you’re going to want to do is clean up the hamster cage. Take out everything from the cage and proceed to clean it out. There’s a rather good chance that these mites and fleas are still floating around in the cage. It doesn’t hurt to wash down the cage as well as rinse it out with bleach. If doing so, make sure that you wait a few hours before putting the hamster back in it’s cage.
Examine the pet: What you’re going to want to do is study the back of your hamster. If you look closely, you will notice that there will be rather noticeable specs that are black. If you spot these black specs, you’re going to want to get a damp cloth and proceed to wash them away on your hamster. Continue to check three times a day during the week until you don’t spot them anymore.
Commercial mite sprays: According to the website Mygetridofguide, they have a solid guide on how to get rid of fleas on hamsters. What they noted that I didn’t think of is that you can get commercial sprays that work wonders on these pets. What you’re going to do is slightly spray them once a day. Popular sprays will cost no more than $5 in your local pet store. Be sure to read into the reviews before buying one as there are some that just don’t work that good.
After you have done all this, it’s best to make sure that you keep your house clean as well. This will mean vacuuming your floors as well as making sure that your floors are mopped with bleach. The last thing that you want to have happen is that the mites spread to other parts of the home partially effecting other pets such as dogs or animals that you may have.

This Could Had Been Awesome
Monday, November 21st, 2011
Now all I must do is learn how to get the screen back on my portable hot tub. We ran the road to the tub and brought it up high enough so it doesn’t hinder the lid and also put a little faucet on it. The Spa is larger than I was expecting. Let me begin by saying how happy I am with the Convenience Line Spa-to-Go! Also, had recently had to purchase the blue nylon wrap that circles the outside as the first one has already just split in a seam and that was $100 a month ago. I’m able to start it at 105 and within fifteen minutes it’ll drop to around 100. If it’s especially cool outside (My home is San Jose CA so when I only say cool I am talking about fifty degrees) it’ll go from 105 to about 97 in that time. On checking all components to insure it worked, it was discovered to be inferior and faulty.

Is It About Time to Start Using Solar Hot Water?
Sunday, November 20th, 2011
You have probably heard about solar hot water and how it is one of the most recent scientific and natural breakthroughs that could help the entire planet. It is true that using solar-powered heaters is highly ideal for you and your family. Nowadays, the cost of water and electric bills can definitely burn a hole on your wallet. The expenses for both water and electricity usage are so high that more and more households are beginning to experience the hardships of being denied the privilege to take a long, hot shower.

The good news is that solar-powered water heaters are now available for every family to use. First, you will need to ask yourself: does your household actually need a heater that is powered by solar energy? Take note that the addition of this machine inside your house can be quite intimidating. You will need to find the right space where you can place the heater. Moreover, you will have to spend a considerable amount of money. You might consider it as an investment, but think about it. Is it actually worth buying a solar heater when the average amount it takes to heat water is five minutes? That is around thirty minutes in one day. Of course, if you are interested with the way solar hot water works, you should opt to install one in your house as soon as you can.
Remember that you can choose to heat water using a flat-plate collector, which is often used for solar pool heating. Another material that can be used is the integral collector-storage system, which involves passing cold water through a conventional water heater before it boils. No matter which of these types you choose, be prepared to adjust to the hectic requirements of having to use a solar heater. Another type of system is a hot water pump combined with solar panels on your roof, this system is relatively new technology and looks slightly more attractive than the old style of collector.

Making Space for a Better Life
Saturday, November 19th, 2011
I have always wanted to buy a house of my own. So when I finally had the money this year, I decided I should not wait any longer. I was able to find a great house. It suited my needs perfectly and had the best location one could hope for. The only problem with the house was that it was quite small. Although I have always liked cozy homes, I was finding it a little tough to get everything I owned to fit into the house. Then a friend of mine came over to help me move in and suggested I look for space saver stairs. I went online and found a great website that manufactured exactly what I was looking for. Selecting from a range of products was easy with all the specifications mentioned. My house is a much cooler place now, thanks to the great stairs that are stylish and useful at the same time.

These Are Very Good Locks
Sunday, November 13th, 2011
When our house was broken in to recently, the police officer told us that there actually was no damage to our front door. It looked like somebody took the time to pick the lock in order to gain access to the house. This really bothered me and my wife because for many years we thought that we lived in a safe neighborhood. After that happened, I decided that it was time to change the type of lock that we had. A good friend of mine suggested a keyless lock made by Kaba Ilco because they have such a strong reputation for high quality locks. Honestly, having a lock like this is a much better idea because we can change the combination really often. I will feel much better knowing that someone would not be able to pick the lock from now on. These are so easy to install that I put one in myself.

The Perfect Solution
Friday, November 11th, 2011
I have found the perfect solution for homeowners who want an easy-to-use airless paint sprayer. The Wagner Pro Force airless paint sprayer is an extremely effective way of painting homes with minimal effort. You should check it out if you are even thinking about it.
The Wagner pro force is light. You just drag around the tool because it has wheels. It makes it so easy. In addition, the spray gun is incredibly comfortable. You can use it for hours without getting tired. Finally, this airless paint sprayer somehow provides so much power (despite being so light), you can get the results you want so much. Overall, I see the Wagner pro force as the perfect solution for beginners or do-it-yourself homeowners.
Many people are still wary though as it does cost $300. However, think about it like this. Hiring someone costs 10 times as much. Also, buying something that provides professional results cost 3-4 times as much. You are truly getting the cheapest way to getting good results with the Wagner pro force paint sprayer.

Quiet Dehumidifier, Superb Performance
Friday, November 11th, 2011
Our completed basement was beginning to develop mold due to the high humidity in the air, therefore the builder suggested we purchase a eva dry dehumidifier and hang it at 40% since our basement was at 65%. So far it really works great. I am presently in the process of finishing out my garage. The reality is, I was a little hesitant buying this dehumidifier because of the sole negative evaluation left. I have a floating slab basement floor therefore the dampness from the ground is continuous. If it was not so good at sucking humidity out of the air, I would deliver it back. Tends to make less noise than a space fan. The system came well packed from the factory and unpacked effortlessly. I find this unit to become everything the include said it was, peaceful and when a hose connection is created you can set the specified humidity level as well as for get it. My old dehumidifier would shut off once the humidity had been reached.

It is Time to Get a Radiator
Thursday, November 3rd, 2011
I honestly think that it is time to buy some contemporary radiators. My wife and I have been talking about this radiator thing a lot, but she has been quite busy picking out the other things to decorate our home with. It seems like she keeps purchasing the things that are not quite necessary, and it just seems like a very sad thing to be doing. I really do not like it when she spends money on things like decorative pillows, yet she feels the need to ignore things like a heater. I suppose that I might as well be the one to take action and buy what we truly need, because it seems hopeless to be depending solely on her to do the right thing. I love her, but she just does not seem like the type to prioritize. If she complains, then I will tell her how I feel about her unnecessary purchases.

Electrician in Burbank Left Me His House
Friday, October 28th, 2011
An electrician in Burbank left me his house! I know how incredible is that?! He has decided to buy a boat and live at sea for the rest of his retirement. We have always been good friends and he looked after me when I was a little girl – but I never thought he would give me his house! He has asked me to take good care of it should he want to return for a couple of nights a year – but other than that the house is mine all the furniture and everything. I have always loved the house and I remember playing in his back garden when I was little. I am going to look after the house really well because it is so entwined with my childhood. All my friends think they now have a place to party – but that is certainly not the case, no chance!

Bug out Bag Are an Essential Part of Your Survival Preparations
Monday, October 24th, 2011
Bug out bags, or disaster kits, should always come with several light sources. You have to assume electricity will be unavailable. Include several well-tested flashlights. Heavy-duty lights are preferable to cheaper brands you can purchase at discount stores. You should also include batteries. Including a light that is powered by a manual hand cranks is also a good idea.
One of the most important items in a survival pack next to food and water is a knife. Purchase a quality knife for inclusion in your Bug Out Bag, and do not assume you will be carrying your usual knife when disaster strikes. If you include a multi-tool, you should also include a separate survival knife with a large, serrated blade. You may need to cut down tree limbs or hack through thick substances. You should also pack a sharpening stone to care for the knife.
Staying dry is essential to survival. When planning a kit for bag survival after a disaster, you should include several ways to shelter from rain. Most camping stores sell plastic ponchos in bags. They are lightweight and take minimal space. You can include several, as they are fragile and can be torn. You should also include heavier protection like coats or fleece linings if you live in cold climate areas. A tarp or tent can also provide shelter from rain.

Foods That Worms Eat
Sunday, October 23rd, 2011
One of the best things about havng a wormery is that it really isn’t going to cost you any money once you have it set up. This is because your worms are going to eat the food that you were just going to throw away any how! What could be better.
Worm composting organic food really works the best but as long as it was once vegetation then the worms will eat it. Some of the items that folks usually forget about is used coffee grounds and the coffee filter, cardboard (but not too much) and broken up egg shells.
If you think about just the left over food that was vegetation that you throw away after meals from plates you’ll realize how much you all ready have to offer your worms to eat. Then add in all the peels and rinds etc that you throw away when preparing dinner you’ll realize you have a whole worm harvest every day at your house!
The worm that almost everyone chooses when they have a wormery to make compost for their garden is the red wigglers. This is because they eat quite a bit relative their small size, and then are able to tolerate a very dense population. So you have have tons of them in a small space and each of them is going to eat a lot. This means you have turn as much food as possible into nice nutrient rich compost for your garden this spring! Of course you can also use the compost on flower gardens and even potted plants as well. Yes, you can use the compost inside and not worry about the smell because the red wigglers are going to eat any of the bacteria that would cause odor anyway.
So set up that wormery soon and you’ll have the best plants in the neighborhood this year!
