Cooking Crab Legs: Steaming
Before cooking crab legs, be sure that the crab meat is thawed. When you buy crab legs from the market, it is advisable to get those which are frozen. This is important, since frozen crab legs mean that its flavor was retained and that the legs are not old.
The most common types used in Cooking Crab Legs include steaming, baking and boiling. Just remember to heat the crabs for about four to eight minutes. Purchased frozen crab legs are usually precooked so be sure not to overcook them.
To steam the legs, pour enough water, about a couple of cups, in a steamer and add a tablespoon of salt. Add the legs onto a rack and wait until the water reboils. Steam the crab legs for about five to seven minutes. Youll know when its done when you start to smell the crab aroma. Serve with butter and lemon wedges.
