It Is Never To Late To Follow Your Dreams, My Story

Turning 40 for me was a momentous time, but not because I was 40. It just coincided with other life changes. I decided that being a lawyer was not something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. It was interesting and well paid, but ultimately, not fulfilling.

I had a dream to run an artists retreat in a Greek village and had been out to spec out exactly the right property. As it happened, I found a small disused granary high on a hill, overlooking a spectacular promontory and a glittering sea. Manis, my guide on the island happened to know the family of the former owners who were delighted that someone should take such an interest in the property, especially when artistic people were going to come and render the scenery of the area in pen and ink or on paper and canvas.

The day before my 40th birthday I took possession of the property and began renovations. It seemed that the second half of my life was about to begin and much like any other lottery, I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. But with paint, easel, and reading glasses in hand; I venture on into the future of my new and exciting life.
